A taster for you …
A BURGULAR FOR CHRISTMAS.
Mathew and Joshua Bacon were twins .They loved playing on their computer. Their favourite game at the moment was ‘Burgular’. They’d received it three months ago on their tenth birthday and were hoping mum and dad would buy them ‘Burgular 2’ for Christmas.
Mr. and Mrs. Bacon had long since gone to bed when the boys crept down stairs and into the living room. They squeeded and rattled all the boxes under the Christmas tree and were sure that the square one in the snowman wrapping paper was ‘It’.
“Here Josh, shine your torch down here,” Matthew whispered.” I’m sure I saw mum wrapping ‘Burgular’ in this one”. The full beam of a passing car straffed the room. Crouching, Josh instinctively turned his torch off and the boys realised in the darkness how cold the house had become. Josh shivered. The clock on the mantelpiece struck 1 a.m. and he felt that not only was he cold, but for the first time in his life he was for some reason afraid in his own house.
“Come on Matt, the let’s get back to bed. We’ll know for sure in a couple of days”.
“Yeah, you’re right Josh. A couple of days is all it’ll take us to finish the last few levels in ‘Burgular One’ and then we could defend our house against an army!
To be continued ...
