SOMONKA - written as two TANKAs (5 line poem, each line contains the following syllables - 5/7/5/7/7)
The first Tanks is about love and the second is a reply
Each member of the group wrote the first Tanka and then we swapped so someone else could write the reply

STATEMENTS & Questions … just for fun
- 1st Person – write a statement - pass it to the person next to you
- 2nd Person – write a question the statement could be the answer to … fold the paper so the statement cannot be seen and Pass it to the person next to you
- 3rd Person – write an answer to the question … fold the paper so that only the latest question can be seen and pass it to the person next to you
- 4th Person – write a question for the above answer … fold the paper so that only the last question can be seen and pass it to the person next to you
- 5th Person – write an answer to the question … fold the paper so that only the latest answer can be seen and pass it to the person next to you
- 6th Person – write a question for the above answer ... fold the paper so that only the above answer can be seen and pass it to the person next to you

- Notice what is under your feet
- There is a gate in a wall describe itGo through the gate and describe the garden on the other side
- The path leads to a small stream. Describe it (is it fast flowing,bubbling, loud, a trickle etc.)
- What does the light look like on the water?A wise being is waiting for you.
- Describe the wise being (human,animal, mystical?)
- Your wise being has a message that will help with life. What is the message?
- Run back put the path, through the gate and shut it firmly behind you.Has anything changed?
- Garden: represents the ordinary everyday world
- Water: relates to emotions
- Sparkling stream = refreshing manageable feelings
- Wise Being: Part of us that knows what is best for us (subconscious)
