In Memory
Kathleen Leslie (July 2020) RIP
Another of our writers has been taken from us far too soon. Her health had been poor these last few months but as with any death, it was still a shock for all who knew her. This kind and compasionate, gentle lady will be missed by all who knew her. Liz Caldwell (July 2017) RIP
It is with great sadness that I have to announce the sudden passing of one of our resident writers. Strange how this group is all about the use of words but at times like this there are just none that are adequate. We are going to sorely miss her, the unique style of writing and her humour. Fun with Limericks
Short poem, often humorous and sometimes obscene, in five-line, with a strict rhyme scheme of AABBA ... the first, second and fifth line rhyme, while the third and fourth lines are shorter and share a different rhyme. A group activity ... write the 1st line and pass it on ... the next person writes the 2nd line ... pass it on ... the 3rd person writes the 3rd line etc. until the limerick is completed. There was a young lady from Saltcoats Whose hobby was buying boats She would sink in the big boats And sink in the small boats Which is why she had armbands and floats There was a young dog on the seashore Who barked out he wanted more ... more! To eat and chew, what more could he do Follow it up with a strong cup of brew Then pee and poo all over the floor |
